Ol Pejeta Conservancy
East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary and home to the world’s last two remaining northern white rhinos on the Laikipia Plateau.
Discovering Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Spanning 360 square kilometers of pristine savannah and acacia bushland between the foothills of the Aberdares and snow-capped Mount Kenya, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a pioneer in progressive wildlife conservation and community empowerment in East Africa.
Ol Pejeta is globally famous as the sanctuary for Najin and Fatu—the world's last two surviving northern white rhinos—who live under dedicated 24-hour armed guard. It also hosts the largest single population of critically endangered black rhinos in East Africa, offering visitors extraordinary opportunities to witness conservation science in real-time.
In addition, Ol Pejeta hosts the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, established in cooperation with the Jane Goodall Institute to provide a lifelong refuge for rescued chimpanzees. With thriving populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and Cape buffaloes, it provides an unparalleled Big Five safari experience on the high plains of Laikipia.
