Terms and Conditions
Dear Traveller/Partner,
Thank you for choosing us to plan your holiday. At Kibona Safaris, we hold the principle that “Guests come first.” Our commitment is to deliver an exceptional experience that showcases our dedication to service. Below are the terms and conditions to help us create a memorable holiday for your guests.
Payment Policy
- A 40% deposit of the total invoice amount is required upon booking confirmation. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the tour starts.
- For reservations made within 45 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of confirmation. Last-minute bookings may require payment via cash (USD) or bank transfer.
Cancellation Policy
Refunds for written cancellations will be processed as follows:
- 90 days prior: 20% of the program cost
- 60 days prior: 50% of the program cost
- 45 days or less: No refund, as payments to service providers will have been finalized. However, partial refunds may be available at the discretion of service providers for unforeseen circumstances.
- Gorilla and chimpanzee tracking permits are non-refundable
- We encourage guests to postpone their trips rather than cancel to avoid additional fees, unless new travel requirements or rate changes occur.
- Refunds are dependent on individual service providers’ cancellation policies, meaning some guests may receive refunds while others may not.
Liability
Kibona Safaris cannot be held liable for events beyond our control (force majeure), including war, civil unrest, natural disasters, pandemics, transportation issues, and adverse weather. In such cases, we cannot refund payments, though we will attempt to recover funds from suppliers.
Visa Requirements & Passports
- Guests should check online for visa requirements and are responsible for obtaining valid travel visas before departure.
- No refunds will be issued if a tour is canceled or shortened due to visa issues.
- Passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the final day of travel. We cannot be held liable for any issues related to travel documents.
Photography
Given the rugged terrain and dusty conditions of safari tours, we recommend using dust-proof bags for sensitive photographic and electronic equipment.
Safety and Security
The East African region is generally safe and politically stable. Guests should have little concern regarding personal safety when traveling on organized tours and staying at our carefully selected lodges and camps.
Wildlife Viewing Activities:
- Your safari guide will prioritize your safety. Please follow their instructions and adhere to park rules.
- On self-drive safaris, do not approach wildlife closely, and only exit your vehicle in designated safe areas.
Safety in Cities and Towns:
- Our cities are relatively safe, with most crimes being minor. Guests on organized tours are largely protected.
- When exploring unguided, follow precautions: seek hotel advice, avoid carrying valuables, take only limited cash, and use taxis after dark.
Safari Rates
- All elements are subject to availability at the time of booking.
- Rates are non-transferable to another party.
Insurance
- It’s essential to have adequate insurance coverage for your trip, including adventurous or safari activities.
- Ensure your insurance covers cancellation costs, medical expenses (including evacuation and repatriation), and personal belongings.
- Please review your policy details carefully and bring them on your trip. It is your responsibility to ensure your coverage meets your needs.
We look forward to welcoming your guests to Uganda, —a small country with so much to offer. If you need further information or have any additional suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
