Elgon National Park
Mount Elgon National Park is a stunning protected area located on the border of Uganda and Kenya, centered around the extinct volcano, Mount Elgon. Established in 1993, the park spans approximately 1,279 square kilometers (494 square miles) and is known for its breathtaking landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and rich cultural heritage.
Mount Elgon National Park features the vast caldera of Mount Elgon, known for its steep cliffs, rolling hills, and numerous waterfalls, with its highest peak, Wagagai, rising to 4,321 meters (14,177 feet).
